nagaoka cartridges

Originally founded in 1940, Nagaoka originally started out producing precision clock parts, and moved on to producing sapphire replacement needles, and producing the first diamond needle in Japan in 1956.

Nagaoka perform a number of precision processes other than jewellery processing and polishing, but also work with ceramics, and magnetic parts for the automotive and communications industries.

 

While cartridge manufacturers produce Moving Magnet and Moving Coil cartridges, Nagaoka produce Moving Perm-alloy cartridges - working on the same principle as MM, the large heavy magnets used are replaced by smaller, lighter magnetized alloy, allowing the cantilever to better track the groove of a record.
