The i35 is a beautifully clean looking integrated amplifier, retaining Primare's minimalist approach to visual presentation - a few buttons for power and menu use, and dual rotary dials used for input selection and volume control.

Its Class D amplification provides a clean 150wpc into 8ohms (300wpc into 4ohms), and uses 0.5w in standby mode. Primare are well known for producing high quality, sweet sounding Class D amplification that runs cool, so can be hidden away in cabinets or within narrow shelving. Due to its neutral yet sweet nature, and unlike some Class D amplifiers, Primare amplification can be used successfully with a wide variety of loudspeakers.

Inputs can be renamed or set as a home theatre bypass, input level can be adjusted so all inputs play at the same level, and also set to be ignored by the up/down selection buttons on the fascia if not in use.

Over the i25, the i35 replaces two of the analogue inputs with balanced XLR inputs for suitably equipped source components such as higher end CD players, streamers, and turntable phono stages.

The i35 DAC option with onboard DAC adds the digital inputs available with the Prisma version below, and can also be retrofitted at a later date to existing analogue only i35 amplifiers.

Primare's i35 integrated amplifier is available in three guises. In its basic form, it is a fully analogue integrated amplifier offering three analogue RCA inputs, a pair of RCA pre-outputs for an additional power amplifier or subwoofers, and a pair of fixed RCA line outputs.

As mentioned above, the DAC board adds four optical digital inputs, two coaxial digital inputs, a Type B USB input, and a coaxial digital output, expanding the number of physical inputs of the i35 DAC to 12.

The i35 PRISMA becomes a streaming integrated amplifier. Network streaming of any music stored on the same network on NAS drives, computers, or servers such as Innuos can be accessed, either via LAN connection or WiFi. Music can also be played from a USB stick or hard driver connected to its rear USB-A connection. AirPlay2 and Bluetooth provide wireless streaming from phones and tablets, and Chromecast provides access to numerous music streaming apps, and Spotify Connect is native.
